Memorial Day
This is the best weekend of the year. The look of summer is coming. There is always hope in the air. So much is happening for patients these last few months. Most exciting is the Google medical records. As a medical practitioner, I like the ability to have medical records easily available when a new person visits me. I can access information quickly. The consumer and I are working together and avoiding unnecessary delays in accessing past medical visits, test, labs and procedures. I like that the consumer has more control in the flow of information. I see it as a boon. There is always the risk of security issues but most of us are HIPPA crazy. Google seems have successfully navigated the issue. Portable medical records are still developing and it is only going to become a better tool and asset for the provider and consumer. I will keep a close watch on how it develops.
Navigation Hint : Don't be afraid to get a second opinion. I tell all my clients to get a second opinion for any new diagnosis. Sometimes a second opinion offers a preferable option to care.
